The Redundancy Payments Service (RPS) has advised of a recent change in the way that Compensatory Notice Pay (CNP) awards are calculated.
Any money earned from a new job, started within the notice period, will be deducted and the calculations for this are now based on the weekly/monthly/yearly salary that is entered on to the RP2, and the number of days between the dates which have been worked, regardless of what the claimant says they have earned in that period.
Unfortunately, this new method of calculation will not take in to account any instances of unpaid leave, such as sick days, and the system calculation cannot be manually overridden.
Further information can be obtained by contacting RPS directly.
Kind Regards
